Vintage Book Wreath

I had seen these beautiful book wreaths all over the place and fell in love and when I saw that ScrapScene had a blog post featuring a tutorial for one I was totally excited. Sadly the original place that had the tutorial was down so I couldn't see it. Being the somewhat tech savvy chica that I am I looked it up on youtube and watched a few different various ladies doing the tutorials there.

And here is what I came up with from those tutorials...

Isn't it adorable, I just love how it turned out!

Products I used on this Wreath:
  • Old book: this wreath used about 40 pages give or take
  • Potpourri
  • Hot Glue
  • 6" round cardboard circle
  • Tattered Angles Glimmer mist in Old Lace
  • Leaf Stamp by Inkadinkado
Thanks for readin',
p.s My MIL and I will be make a big...okay a giant version of this for christmas, I'll make sure to post pics of that, I can hardly wait!!!!

  1. Oh this is beautiful. I wonder how I could adapt this for younger kids to create...

  2. I just taught a class on making these and had students use newer books and just stained the pages with inks to make it vibrant for the holidays. So if you were to do color plus a picture (something kid friendly) into the center instead of the Potpourri, I think it could be a great kid friendly piece.
Vintage Pooh would look great in a book wreath, if you incorporated ribbon you could always do cut outs of the other characters and glue them to the ribbon or even onto the pages going around the wreath.
