Grapevine Wreath for Spring and Summer

I've finally made my first wreath ever and I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out. It was pretty low on the cost scale since I got the Grapevine Wreath for free from a friend who didn't think she could put it to good use. I must say this thing was a bit intimidating at first (it actually lived in my crafting chest for about 4 months before I dared to touch it)because I had no clue what to do with it. One day I was at J's and came across these cute little Lavender bundles that were $1 so I thought maybe this would be cool. I hunted down those other picks which had a 40% off sign above, score right? Wrong, it turns out that discount marker was put in the wrong spot but luckily I had coupons so I still got em on sale.
Don't you just hate it when that happens?  Personally I can't stand to pay retail, even when its tiny things like these too.

Typically something so asymmetric doesn't appeal to me
but for whatever reason this does in a very nice way.

I used my Slice to cut out all the butterflies and gave them fake bodies with the help of some Stickles.

This was a fun little project to make so I think I might start making more of these for each season from now on.

I'm on a roll this week, maybe my mojo is back :D

PSC: Everything and the Kitchen Sink

I just went a little nuts on all the embellishments here. I made 2 tags, topped it with a metal rose that I picked up in the clearance jewelry section at M's. I also managed to sneak in real little pearls onto this too...I was also playing with my new Cuttlebug too, love that thing.

Thanks for checkin in with me,

PSC: Birthday Card

"The Moment may be temporary but the memory is forever."
A client of mine had a birthday last week so I made this card for her. I hope that all of the temporary moments of her birthday will be a beautiful memory that can last forever.

I managed to use my new set of Spellbinders as well as a Cuttlebug folder and I must say I'm really loving that little machine. Until we decide how we're going to change up the loft I've decided to be a space conscience as possible and the Cuttlebug fits in just right.

What I used on this Card:
  • Prima Flowers
  • Spellbinders Die
  • Bling (no brand)
  • Diamond Embossing Folder (Cuttlebug)
  • Paper: All random bits from the stash
  • Stickles Distress in Shabby Shutters
  • Snaps: Creative Memories
  • Clear Expression (unknown)
  • Stamps: Nature Walk (SU!)
  • Ink: Cajun Craze, Chocolate Chip, Crumb Cake and Old Olive (SU! Classics)
Thanks for lookin,

I have busted out my new set of Spellbinders and holy moly they are soooooo COOL!!!
They are like the greatest thing since....ice cream! Now I get why everyone is into them and I must say I need to get more.
I might make this card again and do something different in place of the flower as I'm not totally loving it but my MIL loved it so I thought maybe I was being my own worst critic and decided to post this anyway. I will keep playing with this card layout since I like how the banner looks against the die cut thingie.

What I used:
  • Ink: Chocolate Chip, Early Espresso (SU!), Metallic Purple from a Cats Eye set and Walnut Stain (TH DI)
  • Paper: Scraps from my drawer
  • Stamps: Notably Ornate and Nature Walk (SU!)
Thanks for lookin,

PSC: Since its been a touch windy...

I thought I'd make Pinwheels!....for my garden.
I recently potted a fern and placed it by my front door but it was a bit bland.
I think a few of these will do the trick to liven up that plain little fern.
Its rather late so instillation with happen some time tomorrow. I'll also need to rotate my sprinkler head as well as it completely soaked attempt #1's sassy pinwheel that I had make a week or so ago but forgot to photograph until it was too late.

In the center of my pinwheel is 2 decorative buttons glued together.
I made this from a 6x6 scrap piece of paper from my pile.

I got a few cards done so those posts will fallow along soon,

Long time no talk...

Hi everyone,

I've been in a bit of a funk lately. My mojo is hanging on by a tread and I think its because I've been so busy with work. I sit down to create and I'm just not feelin' too much but the past couple of days I've been trying to do little things to bring it back. I did a little bit of drawing and I also picked up my very first Spellbinders set too so I'm pretty excited to get crafty with those.

So the cards I'll share with you today were some I made a month ago for a friend of mine who's Mother passed very unexpectedly. I didn't know how to help so I offered up my creativity for her and made her these Thank You cards. Her mom loved the ocean so they had a lot of ocean colors for her Memorial and I've carried it through to the cards.

What I used for these cads:
  • Ink: Early Espresso, Baja Breeze and Crumb Cake (SU! Classics)
  • Ribbon: Early Espresso (SU!), Blue shade is unknown
  • Stamps: Four Frames (clear), French Foliage(wood mount) and Friends 24-7
  • Punch: Frame punch (SU!)
  • Glue: Sticky Strip (SU!), Dimensionals (SU!)
Off to create something new, wish me luck!
